Downtime nlams1 & nlams2

Due to a power failure at NIKHEF Amsterdam nlams2 is down. As the nlams1 connection also runs through NIKHEF we currently do not have any connectivity there either.

Due to a power outage in SARA yesterday, Amsterdam our connection to Databarn (nlams1) was disrupted. Because there is currently no redundant path to NIKHEF (nlams2) this PoP also got separated from the rest of the network between 16:10 and 17:15.

Routing problems

This morning between 9:40 and 10:10 some routing problems arose due to a foreign network leaking our route to their transit provider(s) via Russia causing major packet loss. The problem was averted through BGP announcement of more specific routes for our netblock, and the providers involved have been contacted.

Yesterday border0.nlams2.phyxia.net was taken into service, it is located at NIKHEF, Amsterdam and is connected to the GNIX. Backbone connection will follow shortly.

bebru1 PoP move

In the night of 13-Jun-2008, the bebru1 PoP was moved from Versatel Nossegem to AXS Datahouse 1 in Zaventem. Services have been restored gradually. FreeBIX connectivity is currently still offline. Due to configuration problems the nlams1 PoP was offline during the bebru1 downtime.

nlams1 PoP move

Due to problems at the host of our colocator we had to move to a different suite/datacenter. Due to this the nlams1 pop was disconnected for a period of about 45 hours. Connectivity is now restored, a dedicated VLAN/MPLS to bebru1 will be reactivated soon.

MTU issues on nlams1-bebru1 link

Today from about 12:00 until 14:45 there were MTU issues on our path between the two pops - this caused most larger packets to be dropped. The problem had been found and was resolved.

nlams1 up again

The router was restored around 16:00. Mainboard was broken, harddisk image got corrupted due to repeated failed boots. Hardware replaced, software reinstalled. This is temporary spare hardware, will be replaced again in the future.

nlams1 POP downtime

Due to power maintenance at Telecity Redbus 3, nlams1 was briefly without power last night. Apparently some hardware got damaged, RAM is suspected - the router is down until it can be fixed locally.

MPLS Brussels-Amsterdam operational

Since a few moments we now have an MPLS link between bebru1 and nlams1. IPv6 transit to nlams1 will be enabled soon.

FreeBIX peering in nlams1 restored

After about 90 days of downtime our circuit to the FreeBIX in Amsterdam has been restored.

AS112 node reinstated

Our AS112 node was re-set up and is now fully functional again, being announced behind AS35627 on the FreeBIX internet exchange. Soon it will be connected directly onto FreeBIX as well.

Phyxia Networks is now peering with the Ghost Route Hunter project, in an effort to efficiently find routing problems in the IPv6 DFZ.

IPv6 transit from Globalaxs turned up

We now have IPv6 transit from Globalaxs Communications (AS9009), and have received a /44 prefix (16 /48's). IPv6 will be turned up on our network gradually as routers are configured.

Traffic between the nlams1 and bebru1 PoPs is currently rerouted over a tunnel due to link failure in TelecityRedbus 3, Amsterdam.

IPv6 transit from as250.net connected!

We now have a private connection to as250.net in Versatel, Nossegem which will be used for IPv6 transit.

Phyxia bebru1 node move

Yesterday our bebru1 PoP was moved from InterXion Brussels to Versatel Nossegem. This resulted in a few hours of downtime. FreeBIX is not connected yet, this will be rectified as soon as possible.

Amsterdam POP Downtime

Due to a power failure at TelecityRedbus 3 in Amsterdam our equipment was without power from 16:00 CEST until 17:10 CEST. There were some problems bringing the router back up after the failure, but our nlams1 node is now fully operational again.
